When I was younger, about 7 years old, my grandmother passed away. Through my collection I wanted to honor her by painting her favorite flowers, daffodils, on a tea set. When I was little my grandmother would always have tea parties with me and my sister on our deck. I felt that creating a tea set would be the perfect way to honor her and keep her memory alive. I made a tea set for two so that I would be able to have enough time to make everything perfect. In ceramics 1, I fell in love with wheel throwing so I decided to wheel throw everything so that I would truly be proud of what I made this year. I also decided to hand make small sculpted flowers to put in between my pieces for the show. Each of my pieces are hand painted with varying yellow and oranges after being dipped in white glaze. Overall I am very proud that I was able to create something that I could remember my grandmother by and be able to share with my family and friends.
